Research Project: Exploring the clinical judgment and decision making of community nurses caring for patients with venous leg ulcers
Una Adderley, based at Malton Hospital, has been a community nurse in North Yorkshire for twelve years. She has been awarded a Smith & Nephew Foundation Doctoral Nursing Research Studentship to explore how community nurses caring for patients with venous leg ulcers make judgements and decisions about patient management. It will explore the information that clinicians use to inform their decision making and will also compare the judgements and decisions they make to those recommended by evidence based clinical guidelines.
Una will undertake her PhD study on a part-time basis at the University of York.
