Sinead Clarke-O'Neill, Research Fellow - University College London
Research Project: This project focuses on the relationship between skin health and incontinence; specifically the interaction between absorbent continence pads and pressure management products
Sinead's research will focus on an often-neglected area of nursing research, the relationship between pressure management products, designed to treat and prevent pressure ulcers, and absorbent continence products. The resources needed to manage patients with pressure ulcers are substantial and are estimated to cost the health service in the region of £321 million per annum.
This research will enhance the care of those at risk of developing pressure ulcers who also have continence problems.
