2005 Doctoral Nursing Research Studentship winner
Peta Reid, Lecturer in Nursing - University of Southampton
Research Project: This project focuses on the role of Manuka honey in promoting wound healing and reducing infection by investigating the impact of honey on biochemical mediators released in chronic wounds
Peta's research will investigate the ways in which honey acts to promote healing in wounds to enable the benefits of honey as an agent for wound healing to be more widely acknowledged. She believes this research will broaden her knowledge base to advance clinical nursing practice and provide evidence for the mode of action of honey in wound healing.
She is undertaking her PhD at the University of Southampton.
