Research Project: An exploration of chronic leg ulceration in young injecting drug users
Alison's research will build on previous work and will explore skin problems amongst young drug users in Scotland. The main aim of the study is to develop a greater understanding of the risk and causal factors involved in the development of chronic leg ulceration in young drug users. The secondary aim is to develop appropriate harm reduction methods to prevent chronic leg ulceration and hence contribute to improved public health in this vulnerable population.
This award will enable Alison to undertake her PhD study on a full-time basis at the University of Stirling.
